Vaishnavi is the founder and principal of Vyanams Strategies (VYS), helping companies, civil society, and governments build healthier online communities for young people. She is an expert in online child safety and privacy as well as age-appropriate design, policy development, and product guidance.

An expert in online child safety, privacy, and age-appropriate design, Vaishnavi has held significant roles in the tech industry. She was the global head of youth policy at Meta, developing age-appropriate content and product policies across Instagram, Facebook, VR, and messaging services. She previously led Twitter’s global video content policies, was the company’s first head of safety in the Asia-Pacific region, and served as Google’s child safety and privacy lead in APAC, developing global networks of youth experts and supporting local teams with digital literacy policy programs. 

Vaishnavi is a recognized commentator on child safety and privacy, featured in BBC, NPR, CNN, Washington Post, Wall Street Journal, New York Times, and Rolling Stone. Vaishnavi is also passionate about workplace equity and advocates for minorities to get a fair shake at every stage of their careers. She holds a BA in Political Economy from UC Berkeley and an LLM in IT & IP Law from the University of Hong Kong.
