From educator to trust & safety professional:

Matthew Soeth is Head of Trust and Safety and Global Affairs. Matt brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to All Tech Is Human. With over 13 years of experience working in online safety, Matt has worked on the ground in schools, at platforms, and nonprofits advising and developing policy, tooling, and safety resources for global audiences. In addition, Matt is a respected leader in the field of Trust & Safety who has helped build a more cohesive field and helped open up pathways for new voices to enter the fray.

Matt spent the past two years as Head of Trust and Safety at Spectrum Labs supporting gaming, dating, and social platforms with their policy, tooling, workflows, and outreach. Matt also served as head of community for the #TSCollective where he helped to grow a community of online trust and safety professionals across the globe.

Matt is the co-founder and former Executive Director of #ICANHELP, a nonprofit dedicated to empowering young people to make healthy online decisions. While at #ICANHELP, Matt co-founded #Digital4Good, an event that celebrates young people making a positive impact online and in their communities. Matt also serves on the marketing team for the Aaron Judge ALL RISE Foundation, a nonprofit dedicated to inspiring children and youth to become responsible citizens by engaging them in activities that encourage them to reach unlimited possibilities.

Matt is a former member of the Global Trust & Safety Team At TikTok working across multiple issue areas including suicide and self-harm, minor safety, election integrity, and media literacy. Matt also supported the creator teams and worked closely with monetization to collaborate on brand safety. Matt was an active part of Atlantic Council’s recent Task Force for a Trustworthy Future Web, speaking at their Washington, DC launch event for its related report, Scaling Trust on the Web.

Most recently, Matt is launching a podcast called Safety is Sexy. This weekly series is dedicated to taking complex online safety issues and breaking them down into easy to understand concepts. The goal is to expand the trust and safety landscape to more professionals looking to make an impact in online safety whether you work at a platform, a school, civil society, or government regulation.
